The project concerns the renovation and extension of a two-level apartment located in the north of Rome in Via Cavalese. (Via Cortina d 'Ampezzo)
Initially the dwelling, placed on an attic floor, was characterized by a single level with a total area of about 90sqm. Subsequently the purchase of a downstairs room allowed to expand and organize the home space, reaching a total useful size of 150sqm. The connection between the two levels is done by means of a scale embedded inside a blank volume of white.
On the attic floor there is a dining room, a kitchen with sandblasted sliding walls, a bathroom and a bedroom. Characteristic elements of the living room are a fireplace inserted in a blue color volume, and a concrete wall, standing on the feet, dividing the entrance area from the living room itself. On the upper level there are two bedrooms, a wardrobe room and a bathroom with a large hydro-massage bathtub, placed in a slate-covered space, referring to the idea of a cave.
The dominant colors of the apartment are the gray of the floors, the blue and the white of the volumes and interior walls. Finally, a series of bordeaux color furnishings complete the home space.
